JCY Day Camp
Procedures and General Information
MORNING DROP-OFF: Campers are to be dropped off between 8:15 and 8:30 a.m. Please drop off at the front of the camp building (west side). A camp counselor will assist your child to the back of the building where we hold our outside activities. We ask that you remain in your car and do not park your vehicle in the circle so that we can keep traffic moving.
AFTERNOON PICK-UP: Afternoon pickup will begin promptly at 2:45 p.m. and ends at 3:00 pm. One of the counselors will help your child into the car. JCY Camp will only release your child to the individuals listed on the Pick-Up Authorization Form. Please be prompt in picking up your child - there will be a charge of $5.00 per five minutes late in picking up your child.
SUNSCREEN OR INSECT REPELLANT: If you wish to have camp staff apply sunscreen and/or insect repellant, it must be supplied from home and labeled with their name. Consent is included in the Program Permission Form. We strongly recommend that you apply sunscreen and/or repellant each morning before camp starts.
MEDICATION: If your child needs to take prescription medication while at camp, it must be listed on the Emergency/Health Information form. Medication must be in its original container and only the prescribed dosage labeled on the container will be administered. Should we feel that your child would benefit from over-the counter medication, we will only administer after having received your verbal permission.
WATER/LUNCH/SNACKS: Each camper needs to bring a NO MEAT lunch with a drink every day. Please make sure the lunch bag or box has your child’s name on the outside. We are pleased to offer daily lunch options as well as a daily snack package available for purchase (please fill out "lunch program" portion of form link above). In addition, a separate, refillable water bottle must be sent, filled with water, each day. If your child forgets their water bottle one will be supplied at $1.00 per bottle. Snacks such as ice pops, fresh fruit, and ice cream bars are distributed regularly. Please make sure that anything you would like returned that afternoon has your child’s name on it.
ATTIRE: Please send your children to camp ready to swim with their swimsuit on and sunscreen applied on any day we are swimming. Pack a towel and a change of dry clothes in their backpack to change into after swimming. For their wet swimsuit, it is helpful to send an empty plastic zip lock. Please label the bag and your child’s clothing. Please send your child to camp in gym shoes and socks so they are ready for any sports activities every day. No sandals or Crocs, please!
PARENT COMMUNICATION: You will receive weekly communication containing an overview of the activities for the week and other important information. More information regarding this year’s daily parent communication coming soon!
SAFETY: Your child’s safety is our number one priority. All of our counselors are CPR, AED & First Aid certified and will be on hand throughout the day, as well as during off-site activities. No one other than JCY Camp staff or Federation Employees is on the premises unless they have signed in at the front desk inside the Federation building. If you need to pick up your child early, you must let the director know so that we can have him/her ready for pick up.
ABSOLUTELY NO CELL PHONES, ELECTRONIC DEVICES, OR TOYS AT ANY TIME.
